The University of California, Merced is a dynamic new university campus in Merced, California, which opened in September 2005 as the tenth campus of the University of California and the first American research university in the 21st century. In keeping with the mission of the University to provide teaching, research and public service of the highest quality, UC Merced offers research-centered and student-oriented educational opportunities at the undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels through three academic schools: Engineering, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences/Humanities/Arts.
The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts invites faculty applications primarily at the Associate/Full Professor (tenured) level and in exceptional cases at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level in Microeconomics.
We seek an internationally distinguished scholar who can contribute to an innovative research program in Applied Microeconomics or applied theory; teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; fit within the Applied Microeconomics mission; and take a leadership role in building the Economics programs at UC Merced.

| Qualifications: |
|
In exceptional cases the School will consider applications from candidates at the Advanced Assistant level. The minimum qualifications for this position are (1) a PhD in Economics or related field; (2) demonstrated research excellence and potential for future productivity in Applied Microeconomics or applied theory; and (3) excellence in teaching.
