Description:   The University of California, Merced is a dynamic new university campus in Merced, California, which opened in September 2005 as the tenth campus of the University of California and the first American research university in the 21st century. In keeping with the mission of the University to provide teaching, research and public service of the highest quality, UC Merced offers research-centered and student-oriented educational opportunities at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels through three academic schools: Engineering, Natural Sciences and Social Sciences/Humanities/Arts.

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts anticipates hiring a Reader for ECON 151: Public Economics for the Fall 2013 semester. The Reader will be responsible for reading one or two writing assignments and six or seven problem sets. A clear key will be provided. The position will require no more than 3-4 hours in a given week and will total 50 hours for the semester.

Qualifications:   The Reader will be an Economics major or minor, be a student in good standing at the University, have previously taken ECON 151: Public Economics or a related course and received a grade of B or higher.
 
Salary:   $12.82/hour/undergrad, $13.49/hour/grad
