Research Assistant (UC Santa Barbara)
    Research Assistant, Biology; Breast Cancer Stem Cells, UC Santa Barbara
A staff research assistant position is available at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Division Neuroscience Research Institute/California NanoSystems Institute. The project goal is to identify new markers on breast cancer stem cells. This will serve as the first step towards identifying the role of these cells in breast cancer. Techniques applied are antibody phage display, laser capture microdissection , immunohistochemistry and standard molecular biological and protein biochemical techniques. Knowledge of basic molecular biological, biochemical and cell culture techniques is expected. Specialized techniques will be carried out after training through existing lab members, prior experience in these areas is a plus. Participation in general lab upkeep is also expected.
