The University of California, Merced is the newest and tenth campus of the University of California system and the first American research university built in the 21st century. Reporting to the Director of the Violence Prevention Program, the Program Coordinator organizes educational activities related to the prevention of sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. Responsible for coordinating all in-person educational programs related to these crimes. Oversee office-related aspects of these prevention programs, including maintaining records and overseeing evaluation-related data entry. Work with the Director of the Violence Prevention Program in conducting annual assessment of the prevention programs. Oversees providing prevention education programs mandatory to all incoming students (undergraduate, transfer, and graduate), and for programs specifically targeting athletes, Greeks, and under-served communities. Work closely with the Violence Prevention Program Director and the Health Promotion Coordinator in training and working with student peer educators who provide peer to peer educational programs. Work with various campus programs, departments, and organizations to develop educational programs and outreach activities.

Qualifications:   • Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

• Knowledge of computer programs commonly utilized in educational settings (i.e. Microsoft Suite)

• Interpersonal Skills- active listening, critical thinking, facilitation.

• Knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population.

• Verbal communication, written communication, organization.

• Interpersonal skills.

• Skills in service orientation, active listening, critical thinking.

• Abilities in problem identification, reasoning.

• Ability to multi-task, verbal communication, written communication, organization.
