The University of California, Merced is the newest and tenth campus of the University of California system and the first American research university built in the 21st century. The Gift Administration Analyst reports directly to the Executive Director of Development Services and is responsible for ensuring unit is compliant with state, federal and UCOP regulations, as well as CASE guidelines. The Analyst will provide direction and resolution regarding fund accountability to ensure funds are managed according to campus policies and donor intent.

The Analyst is responsible for compiling reports for gift data to fulfill external and internal reporting requirements, reviewing processes on an annual basis and collaborating on strategic decisions involving integrity of gift information within the database. In addition, the Analyst is responsible for gift agreements, as well as accurate and timely data entry.

Qualifications:   • Previous related experience in a computerized financial services or data rich environment.

• Excellent research and analytical skills sufficient to analyze problems in a multi-faceted way and develop and participate in implementing innovative solutions on a variety of projects.

• Demonstrated experience reconciling and balancing financial records.

• Demonstrated ability to read, write, interpret, and apply policies, rules, and regulations, and to learn regulations governing charitable giving.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to articulate complex information in a manner which is comprehensible to a diverse audience.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a wide variety of individuals and to respond flexibly and positively in difficult circumstances.

• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, while maintaining the security of confidential and sensitive donor information.

• Strong demonstrated organizational and time management skills and the ability to work concurrently on multiple tasks, to establish priorities, and work independently or in a team environment to accomplish goals within established deadlines.

• Familiarity with computers and demonstrated knowledge of relational database concepts and complex data structures and relationships.

• Demonstrated knowledge of development principles and activities including gift policies, solicitations, stewardship, donor recognition and administration.

• Ability to understand campus and university-wide policies and procedures, CASE reporting standards, IRS regulations and other governing policies and procedures related to the processing of charitable gifts.

• Experience with the Raiser’s Edge database, preferred
