Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, Financial Management & Controls, the Assurance & Controls Analyst provides a wide range of comprehensive research, analysis, and monitoring in the areas of internal controls, financial management, and financial policy compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive control reviews that include the evaluation of process, policy, systems, and organizational structures and the application of appropriate principles and best practices.
- Applies knowledge of University policies and procedures to identify and resolve issues related to financial system access, key controls, and compliance.
- Coordinates logistics for campus training programs, such as the Financial Management Certification Program and monthly meetings for Business Officers.
- Has campus wide responsibility for ensuring appropriate access to financial systems.
- Acts as a liaison to the campus community on financial management issues.

Qualifications:   - Bachelor’s degree in related area and 1 year of progressively responsible related experience or equivalent experience/training (5 years of experience required without degree).

- Ability to assess internal controls, including mapping business processes and auditing and evaluating business operations.

- Ability to independently perform financial analysis assignments.

- Demonstrated knowledge of financial policies, practices, applications, and systems.

- Demonstrated knowledge of Statement of Auditing Standards (SAS) 115 and internal controls functions.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

- Demonstrated decision-making skills exhibiting integrity and sound judgment.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with cross-functional campus units and external constituents.

- Excellent analytical skills to enable complex analysis and clear summation of diverse types of information.

- Requires the highest level of ethics and professional standards to handle highly sensitive data and matters with tact and sound judgment.

- Accounting or financial management experience in a higher education setting, PREFERRED.
