Description:

Applies skills as a recruitment and admissions professional and provides substantive information on student programs for the organization or in college/school/department. Performs recruitment activities. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Transfer Initiatives and Recruitment, the incumbent will identify, recruit and serve students for UC Merced. As a representative for UC Merced, the incumbent will provide direct student/parent development and outreach services. Develop and implement projects and activities; analyze data; track and evaluate program effectiveness and develop strategies to meet strategic goals at the high school and mainly at the community college level. The incumbent must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines. The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisor.

• This position will work remotely in the surrounding Bay Area region.

Qualifications:   • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training required.

• Three or more years of comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including transfer advising and recruitment, curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities and specifically at UC, and/or specific colleges and schools required.

• Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population required.

• Ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective students and the public required.

• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions required.

• Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials required.

• Demonstrated the ability to work with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.

• A high level of personal integrity and professionalism, including the ability to work with confidential information required.

• Availability and commitment to travel for extended periods (8-12 weeks a year, primarily in the fall) required.

• Utilizes computer technology in daily operations; Prepares maintains and updates calendar; Works flexible hours including split shifts as required.

• Maintains a clean office environment; assist in his/her position upkeep required.
