In 2018, UC Merced opened the Downtown Campus Center, a $33 million, three-story administrative building located in the heart of Merced.

This position will be located in the California Council on Science and Technology's (CCST) Sacramento office and uses professional concepts to resolve a variety of administrative operational issues. This position acts as administrative support for Sacramento senior staff members and their designees as appropriate. Coordinates the production of Spotlight articles, brochures, project reports, and other printed materials for the organization. Works with staff to make updates to CCST website. Provides support for CCST Board, Council and other CCST sponsored meetings including logistics, invitations, materials and communications. The incumbent must demonstrate a strong ability to work and solve problems independently; collaborate with professionals representing a range of interests, education and experience; excellent communication and writing skills; familiarity with Mac software including but not limited to FileMaker Pro and Adobe Design Suite; and familiarity with actions required to post documents and make changes to CCST website; Provide general administrative support to CCST programs as required.

CCST is a nonpartisan, impartial, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation established via Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR 162) in 1988 by a unanimous vote of the California Legislature. It is designed to offer expert advice to the state government and to recommend solutions to science and technology-related policy issues.

 
Qualifications:   • Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.

• Working knowledge of common campus-specific and other computer application programs.

• Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.

• Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

• Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

• Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
