Reporting to the General Services Manager, the Campus Services Supervisor will supervise all personnel and handle day to day activities for Refuse, Moving & Events and Shipping & Receiving. The position will plan, implement and evaluate the refuse waste operations. Support the UCsystem wide 2020 zero waste goal. Work with on- and off-campus departments to engage participation and support for zero waste goals. Supervise all refuse workers, including scheduling, hiring, firing and disciplinary actions if necessary. Incorporate requirements into zero waste plans and projects as needed, including documentation and recordkeeping of best practices and data. The incumbent will also be responsible for day to day operations: scheduling all events, office moves and services provided by M&E. Keep accurate inventory of all M&E assets (tables, chairs, flags, podiums, etc.). Set weekly schedule for part-time employees. Attend campus event meetings and walkthroughs for individual events when necessary. Supervise existing staff, handle all hiring, terminations, and performance evaluations. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.

Additionally, the Campus Services Supervisor will oversee the Shipping & Receiving staff, handle all hiring, terminations, and performance evaluations. Manage databases and tracking systems insuring the quick and accurate delivery of all items. Help staff work with departments for shipment, receipt and distribution of hazardous materials,
controlled substances, dangerous goods, etc.

Qualifications:   • Bachelor's degree in related area and three years of progressively responsible related experience or equivalent experience / training required.

• Knowledge of UC campus processes, policies and procedures.

• Strong and effective interpersonal and supervisory skills required.

• Strong skills to facilitate and collaborate with various internal and external constituencies on long- and short-term facilities planning and management required.

• Broad knowledge of Shipping & Receiving codes and policies required.

• Strong skills in management, regulatory compliance and operations planning required.

• Strong skills in leadership, motivation of staff and teambuilding required.

• Strong skills in verbal and written communications required.
