The STEP Scholars Program provides student-centered support and opportunities for students to engage in meaningful explorations and selection of academic majors and career fields. STEP aims to help students attain better understanding and exposure to opportunities that will enrich their learning and academic success here at UC Merced. It is our goal to strengthen our students' self-efficacy and resilience during their journey towards graduation. STEP is a federally funded TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program, serving students who are first generation, low-income, or individuals with documented disability.

The Fellow is responsible for peer contact, coalition building, and event planning. The Fellow will work closely with the Program Coordinator and Student Administrative Assistant to ensure that student outreach and programming is timely and effective. Duties include assisting the PC with Spring Semester 2018 programs and office duties as needed.

Qualifications:   -The student must be able to work independently with minimum supervision and exercise sound judgment
- Have some experience with student programming and knowledge/involvement with STEP Program and/or Bright Success Center units
- Good Academic Standing
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills; strong collaboration skills
- Creative and enthusiastic about building community spirit and student outreach
- Sophomore/Junior class standing is preferred
