The University of California, Merced is the tenth campus of the UC system and the first American research university built in the 21st century.

The Health Communication Intern on the Communication, Culture, and Health team will work on
health communication and social marketing campaign activities related to a Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention project. The intern will also gain experience in project coordination, working
with diverse stakeholders, and conducting market research.

Responsibilities include:
a. Build and maintain a research team website, including creating content and planning for supporting editorial content such as a blog posts and social media.
b. Prepare a media coverage report review daily media and track media coverage of project activities.
c. Create and manage an editorial calendar for a project to establish a communication plan, including writing and copy editing press releases, writing and/or securing guest authors for blog posts and newsletter design.

PLEASE NOTE: Interns will be required to participate in a research symposium

Qualifications:   (a) Student must be a Junior or Senior with a 3.0 or higher GPA
(b) Student must be enrolled in fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters
(c) Student must have exceptional written and oral communication skills
(d) Public Health major or minor preferred
