Description:  

University of California Water Security and Sustainability Research Initiative is the voice for water research in the state. The organization covers nine UC campuses and a variety of water resources management issues. UC Water partners with the University of California TV channel Sustainable California for multi-media outreach. Critical to the research mission is ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and decision-makers.

UC Water seeks a Communications Specialist to assist the Director of Communications with social media, video, web communication and general office tasks. The successful applicant will compose tweets, edit photographs, assist with video editing, and contribute to web content.

 
Qualifications:   The applicant should have an excellent attention to detail and be in command of excellent English writing skills using proper grammar and punctuation. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud is useful, especially Photoshop and InDesign. Professionalism, diligence and strong work ethic are required.

The student will have access to a PC computer and work space. Weekly meetings with supervisor are expected. Some opportunities for off-campus travel to work sites may be possible.
